World Tesol Academy Is The Best

Academically speaking, my experience with World Tesol Academy was unique, as I enjoyed several learning options. They have a very specialized and flexible learning approach, such as " Self-paced learning'' unlike traditional in-person learning. TESOL Courses, World Tesol Academy, offer a fully online, flexible schedule allowing you to learn at your own pace. Also, 'Focused curriculum," their courses mainly emphasized practical teaching skills over heavy theoretical content, making it more immediately useful.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
My humble advice to fellow travellers is that, if you are moving abroad to teach, I highly recommend that you check out 'World Tesol Academy'. They offer the best among others.
Pros
  • Highly affordable, lower cost than in-person CELTA programs.
  • Budget-friendly for starters who wants to test the field before investing heavily.
  • Instant digital certificate and no long waiting periods.
Cons
  • No mandatory teaching practicum.
  • Harder to transition to university level.
  • Depends on self-discipline.

Very pleasantly surprised

I took this course to learn some basic TESOL concepts that I could incorporate into my teaching. At first, I was very suspicious about the pricing -- just too good to be true, or even legitimate. But the course is solid, the accreditation is solid, and I am very satisfied with this personal achievement. I would recommend this course to anyone, especially to educators of all subjects, not just English/languages. For teachers in the United States, I think the material covered here would be especially beneficial if you have, for example, Hispanic students and want to develop some TESOL skills to facilitate your teaching to non-native English speakers.

My experience in 120-Hour TESOL Course

My Experience in Taking the 120-Hour TESOL Course

Taking the 120-hour TESOL course was a transformative journey that enriched my professional skills, expanded my understanding of language instruction, and deepened my appreciation for cultural diversity. As someone passionate about education and communication, enrolling in the TESOL course was both a personal and professional milestone. The course provided comprehensive training in teaching English to non-native speakers and equipped me with practical tools and insights that I can now confidently apply in various teaching contexts.

Getting Started: Motivation and Expectations

Before enrolling, I had a strong desire to enhance my teaching credentials and improve my ability to teach English effectively. I was particularly drawn to TESOL because of its global relevanceโ€”English remains a vital bridge language in business, education, and international communication. I also wanted to challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone and gaining expertise that would allow me to work in diverse classrooms or even abroad.

I expected the course to be rigorous but manageable, with modules covering essential grammar, lesson planning, and teaching methodologies. I also hoped it would provide interactive activities and real-world examples that could mirror what I might encounter in an actual classroom.

Course Structure and Content

The TESOL course was thoughtfully organized into several modules that progressively built up my knowledge and skills. It began with foundational concepts such as the history of English language teaching, learning styles, and theories of second language acquisition. These early sections laid the groundwork for understanding how language learning works and how it differs for adults and children.

As the course advanced, the modules focused on more technical aspects such as grammar, phonetics, pronunciation, reading comprehension, listening, speaking, and writing. I particularly appreciated the detailed breakdowns of grammar points, which included examples and teaching tips. Although grammar can often be a dry subject, the course managed to present it in an engaging and practical way, showing how to make lessons more interactive for students.

Another standout component of the course was the emphasis on lesson planning. I learned how to structure a class from start to finish, set clear learning objectives, and assess student performance. The lesson planning templates provided were invaluable tools that I now regularly use when preparing classes. Additionally, the course offered guidance on using visual aids, multimedia tools, and games to maintain student interest and accommodate different learning styles.

Practical Applications and Skill Development

One of the most beneficial aspects of the TESOL course was its focus on practical teaching strategies. Through sample lesson plans, video demonstrations, and scenario-based exercises, I gained a hands-on understanding of classroom management, eliciting student responses, correcting errors tactfully, and encouraging participation. These real-life simulations allowed me to practice my teaching skills in a safe environment before applying them in a classroom.

The section on teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP), such as business English or academic English, was another highlight. It taught me how to tailor lessons to meet the specific needs of different student groups, an essential skill in a globalized world where students come from various backgrounds and have varied goals.

Additionally, the TESOL course helped me develop soft skills such as patience, empathy, and cultural sensitivity. Teaching English isnโ€™t just about language; itโ€™s also about building relationships and creating an inclusive classroom where all learners feel valued and supported. Understanding cultural nuances and potential language barriers enabled me to become a more effective and compassionate teacher.

Challenges Faced and Lessons Learned

Although the course was immensely rewarding, it was not without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles I encountered was adjusting to the technical terminology used in linguistics and grammar. Terms like "past perfect continuous" or "subordinating conjunction" initially felt overwhelming, but through consistent practice and review, I grew more comfortable using and explaining them.

Another challenge was managing my time effectively, especially since I was balancing the course with other personal and professional responsibilities. The self-paced format was both a blessing and a curseโ€”it gave me flexibility, but also required discipline and organization. I learned to set realistic goals, create study schedules, and break modules into manageable chunks. These time-management skills have continued to benefit me even after the course.

Certification and New Opportunities

Receiving the TESOL certificate was a proud moment. It signified not just the completion of 120 hours of rigorous study, but also the start of a new chapter in my career. The certificate has opened doors for me, both locally and internationally. I now feel confident applying for teaching positions in language centers, schools, and even online platforms.

In interviews, I can speak about my training with credibility, and employers appreciate the professionalism and preparedness that comes from TESOL certification. Iโ€™ve also connected with a community of fellow TESOL graduates and educators, exchanging ideas, lesson plans, and teaching experiences.

Personal Growth and Future Plans

Beyond professional advancement, the TESOL course has been a journey of personal growth. Iโ€™ve become more confident, adaptable, and open-minded. Teaching English is more than just a jobโ€”itโ€™s a chance to make a difference in peopleโ€™s lives by giving them the tools to communicate, pursue education, and access better opportunities.

I now plan to pursue further specialization, perhaps by taking courses in teaching young learners or integrating technology into language education. I also hope to teach in different countries to experience new cultures and broaden my global perspective.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, taking the 120-hour TESOL course has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life. It not only equipped me with essential teaching skills but also inspired me

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Great! Here's a sample paragraph you can use to describe your experience with Durian as the most unfamiliar thing you've ever eaten. You can include this in a personal essay, journal, or assignment:

---

The Most Unfamiliar Thing I Ate: Durian

The most unfamiliar thing I have ever eaten is durian, a tropical fruit known for its strong smell and unique flavor. Before trying it, I had heard many mixed reactionsโ€”some people described it as delicious and creamy, while others warned me about its overpowering odor and strange taste. When I finally had the chance to try it, I was both curious and hesitant. The smell was indeed intense, almost like a mix of onions, sweet custard, and something rotten. But I decided to keep an open mind. As I took my first bite, I was surprised by the textureโ€”it was soft and creamy, almost like custard or cheese. The flavor was complex: a mix of sweet, savory, and slightly bitter. It was unlike anything I had tasted before. While I canโ€™t say durian is my favorite fruit, I appreciated the experience and the cultural significance it holds in many Southeast Asian countries. It taught me that being open to new experiences, even unfamiliar or challenging ones, can broaden my perspective and make life more interesting
Pros
  • 1. Flexible Learning Pace The course allowed me to study at my own pace, which made it easier to balance with my personal and professional responsibilities. I could revisit difficult modules as needed and complete lessons when it was most convenient for m
  • 2. Practical Teaching Strategies I gained hands-on skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and engaging students of different levels. These practical tools gave me confidence to teach in real-life settings and adapt to various learner needs.
  • 3. Improved Language Awareness The course helped deepen my understanding of English grammar, pronunciation, and communication techniques. This not only improved my teaching ability but also made me more articulate and accurate in using the language myself
Cons
  • 1. Limited Live Interaction Since most of the course was self-paced and online, there were few opportunities for live interaction with instructors or peers. This sometimes made it harder to ask real-time questions or get immediate feedback.
  • 2. Challenging Terminology Some modules introduced complex grammar and linguistic terms that were initially difficult to grasp. It took extra time and effort to fully understand and apply them in lesson planning and practice activities.
  • 3. Lack of In-Class Practice While the course provided useful simulations and scenarios, it didnโ€™t offer real classroom teaching practice. This made it challenging to fully prepare for handling unpredictable student behavior or spontaneous teaching situat

Great, rather easy

It was an accessible course and not hard to complete, especially for native English speakers or proficient in English (the grammar portions would be the hardest for foreign speakers). But the course contained valuable lessons. I took notes and reading through it before the final quiz really helped. I didn't need to ask for extra support, the website was easy to navigate. We will have to see how easy it is to use this certificate to get a visa overseas, but it looks like the certificate is accredited and well-acknowledged. I am glad I now have to option to teach online, as well!

My Valued TESOL/TFEL Course Experience

My entire experience during this course was incredibly worthwhile. I got to refresh all my knowledge about the English language, from the simplest concepts that are easily forgotten or neglected to the most complex rules that should always be remembered and applied. The training is packed with comprehensive information that will truly prepare one to be well-equipped in teaching English to any type of learner, encompassing proven techniques, varied activities, and methods that cater to whatever scenario might be faced in a class. The sample video also gives a simulation feeling, empathizing the teacher-student interaction. I like how the sequence of topics is laid out, along with the end quiz in every module to assess understanding, and how the program explains educational jargon in the easiest way possible, making it accessible to newbies. Plus, the tutors are supportive and accommodating whenever there are unanswered questions, especially since this is a self-paced class. I'm also grateful and proud to have passed and achieved my TESOL/TFEL certification โ€“ it's another accomplished goal for me.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
When I enrolled in this course, I set a goal for myself to finish everything in just a week, so I could maximize my time and not let any opportunities pass. However, I failed to do so, and it took me almost a month and a half to complete it. Despite this, I'm glad that I scored perfectly on all my quizzes, although I only got 95% on the final test โ€“ something I could have done better on. If I were to repeat it, I'd aim for a perfect score next time. Nevertheless, I'm already satisfied and happy because I spent a meaningful month learning everything in this academy.
Pros
  • - Prepares a teacher for their future endeavor.
  • Make one gain qualification and essential wisdom for the profession
  • Empirical knowledge is acquired
Cons
  • Needs discipline
  • Self-paced
  • Boring when too long readings

Great experience!

The course covers most aspects about becoming an excellent ESL Teacher. It has all the ground work and can serve as a foundation to build upon through experience. Being an experienced teacher, I learn't new techniques and fun ways to implement them in my classes. The course is organized well and doesnt get boring. Four months is plenty of time to complete the course and the best part is that instructors can be contacted and help you get through. As one progresses along and gains hands on experience as a teacher, the limit lies beyond the skies when it comes to implementing and modifying ways to teach your class using the techniques learnt in the course. Happy Teaching!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Try and be consistent in doing the course in order to complete it and also, try and implement what you learn in real life scenarios; this helps.
Pros
  • Excellent and in-depth grammar material
  • Lots of activities and fun ways to teach are suggested in the course
  • Explanations are easy to understand with lots of examples
Cons
  • I feel the cost of the physical copy of the certificate is too high
  • Could be a lot of knowledge to take in if not paired with experience

There are a lot of things that you might know, but in this course, you can perfect your teaching and learning skills and knowledge.

I learned a lot of things that I should know before to start giving English lesson, online or in a classroom, even though I am planing to have another course that this platform is offering, Iโ€™m not a English native speaker, but I know and I feel that I can give English lessons oversea, after this course.
